Do the white areas look fluffy or is it actually the skin areas themselves that have turned white?

What other fish are in the tank with these guys?

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

update

almost half of his dorsel fin is now missing and the white is getting a little worse.. his breathing is more rapid than the other fish

if i had to diagnose him myself i'd say fin rot is setting in.
i'v quartined him now.

what should i do ?

Can you get some melafix to try on the finrot?
I'm thinking it might also be body fungus of sorts. Try and find a bottle of fungus remedy that gives you instructions on how to use it.

Good luck Stu
