Red Gash? | |
CrimsonaX Hobbyist Posts: 130 Kudos: 57 Registered: 30-May-2007 | I was just about to readjust the plants my lovely snail uprooted when I noticed a red gash on my Ram. It looks like its under her skin almost, I've tried my best to supply an image. That photo doesn't show up the color so well but it is a strong red. http://i619.photobucket.com/albums/tt278/Pikkietures/fishey.jpg Some added info =) Stable parametres, but a lowish PH at around 6.5 Community tank but no signs of bullying Fish is still behaving normally and eating well. |

But she's such a beautiful fish I want to make sure if anythin isn't right that i get it fixed. Also have a hospital tank if need be. ps: She's also passing...ahem waste, per normal. So no discolorations or stringy |

I would keep a good eye on her any way which I am sure you will any way. You have not bought any new fish have you? CrimsonaX Hobbyist Posts: 130 Kudos: 57 Registered: 30-May-2007 | Nope tanks just as I left it, thought I seriously want to add some non sharp rocks to weight my plants down, my snails having a field day every day 0_0 she's still acting her usual so if that odd red...bruise wasn't there you'd swear it's just your average ram. Maybe some of the woods a bit pointy but no rocks, here's a pic. http://i619.photobucket.com/albums/tt278/Pikkietures/tank.jpg floating mini tanks just for the baby, he's growing fast so it won't be there long, maybe that has a sharp corner to it though. But as long as that gash isn't a starting syptom for something Im happy =) And excuse the mess, plants have been adjusted since this images was taken |

It is a possibility. Melafix is mainly for stressed out fish but you say she is acting "normally" if there is such a thing for fish. Pimafix is for infections but you say there is no outward infection. All you can do is keep an eye on her. If you are looking for some small smooth flat rocks go to Bunnings in the gardening section they have them in small bags, go to a landscape Gardener where they have them by the cubic metres. 1lt container might only cost you a smile and a thank you.
