My male 3 spot gourami is suddenly acting ill. He is swimming (when he will) like an SAE does. head up, tail down. His tail fin seems to be missing its top portion though its doesn't look rotted away. The top base is swollen and it almost looks like its just flattening part of the tail. Sorry very hard to explain.

For the most part he is going to the top corner and laying in the floating plants and moving very little.

All other fish appear fine (including female 3 spot gourami) and I did a 50% water change last night. Can't test the water today so that answer is gonna have to wait.

Any ideas?

thank you

What other fish are in the tank? How long has the tank been setup and running for? Does he seem to be rubbing anything, like the plants or rocks? How is the breathing, fast or slow? How is his color, normal or faded? Will he eat if you put food in the tank? Do you have carbon in you filter system? How often do you do water, filter & gravel cleanings? What do you have for water movement in the tank and on the surface? Try to get your water prams as soon as possiable so you can post them here. Sorry to ask so much but just trying to get as much info as possiable.

The only thing I can add is how old is the Gourami. It would be totally impossible to answer your problem until you provide us with all the tank info including all the water peramiters.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
