I woke up this morning anxsious to see my new fish and I find my cory on his back floping around, he has a loss of coulore but besides that he looks ok. He is in a small bucket right now(no hospital) I was wondering what is wrong with him and what medicine I should buy.

He also has slight nipping on his fins(serpeas)?

Thakyou for your help in advanced.

Whenever you use any type of medication be sure to remove any carbon you have in the filter system. Carbon will remove the meds and you will just be wasting the money on the meds. Also if you are using Pimafix or Melafix make sure you have a god amount of surface movement or an air pump with an air stone. Medications tend to remove the oxygen needed in the tank.

As for the fish, if it was new how did you acclumate it to the tank? Did you just pour it in the tank or did you slowly add alittle water to the bag from the tank. How long has your tank been set up? How often do you do water changes and cleanings? Also what are your water prams? Do you have any salt in the tank? The reason I am asking the above is cories are kinda touchy when adding them to a tank. Once they are in they are pretty easy to take care of. Also cories DO NOT do well with salt.

I myself have 6 Pepper Cories and did lose 1 when I added them to the tank so I got a new one. Now all my cories are fine and I have had 4 of them for alittle more then 4 months and the other 2 I have had for about 1 month. It could have been just a weak fish and the stress of putting it in a new tank may have been just to much. Also keep in mind most cories like to be in a group of 5 or more of there own. I would not suggest you add anymore fish if they are going into the 10g on the above post. You seem to be somewhat overstocked as is.

Which tank are you refering to?
Did you buy only one Cory if not how many and which tank did it go into. Also was it introduced correctly? It might help if you redo your tank listings. What are your water peramiters and how do you carry out all your maintenaince, filtration changes/cleanings, and water changes percentages also how often.

Oh sorry its a 48G i've had it for a few months 3 i think.
The cories were my first fish I've had them since the biggining, yesterday...umm thursday when i got home i accimated my 2keyholes for 15min and put them in my aquarium, but with my ottos I accilmated them but I had to put the water in my aquarium because it was too hard to catched them.
One thing i noticed woth my cories is that 2of ther Barbles are eroded. AND some of there fins are nipped including the one who died.
It is definetly my serpea tetras who nipped them(10)

I have:
2Keyholes
2Platys(F)
1DwarfGourami
10SerpeaTetras
5Cories
3Ottos

Sorry If it sounds so confusing. And many plants and hiding spots.

It looks like you do not have much choice if you want to stop the fin nipping.
