pla![]() Fingerling Posts: 21 Kudos: 15 Votes: 2 Registered: 25-Jul-2006 | Hi I have a cory Julli/trin and i woke up today and his eyes are bulgey and cloudy. It looks like he has cataracts overnight. I have 3 of these fish (3months)and one allways swims by himself and this is the fish that is sick. He is just sitting on the bottom of the tank.all other fish seem fine.I have just corrected a ph from <5.5 (2days ago)unfortunatly it corrected much faster than I anticipated I used about half a teaspoon of bicarb soda. Could this have anything to do with it, or was he possibly sick from the start being a loner there is two photos of him here one when he was well and one just afew minutes ago http://new.photos.yahoo.com/dbontheroad can I treat him or should i euthanise him and treat the tank. I have no hospital tank or anything thanks to all who may help tank 40gallon planted, fluval 305(1000lph), 2 rams, 2 dwarf gorami, 3 rummynose, 5 cardinals 3 corys 0 nitrites and ammonia, ph 6.5, <10 nitrates, |

Here is the page from the manufacturers. Cloudy eyes are usually signs of a bacterial infection. Myxazin should treat it fairly quickly. It's safe to use in the main aquarium (I've been using it for some time without ill effects in an established aquarim). If Myxazin doesn't treat it, then use Melafix. ![]() |

Your other water parameters are good so I doubt it could be any other factor. It is a little puzzling as to why only one is affected though. Maybe this one is weaker than the others. Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |
