Sick Gourami | |
fishlover Small Fry Posts: 11 Votes: 0 Registered: 02-Aug-2004 | Hello, I have a sick Gourami. He has a large red hole on the one side with white fuzz around the edges of the whole. It is only on one side. He is still eating and swimming around normally. I have been trying to treat my dwarf Gourami for over 2 weeks now. I tried the Melafix with the Pimafix for 7 days and no improvement. I waited to see if it would get better. But it isn't getting much worse. I need to know if this is bacterial or fungal because I was going to try Fungus cure next, because I have it in the house, or should I go back to the others for longer. My parameters are: Ph 7.0 Nitrite 0 Ammonia 0 This is an established tank. I have him in with a bristlenose and 5 neon tetras. They seem to be all getting along. |

I believe that its an open wound (possibly a heater burn) that simply grew fungus. Just keep on adding the melafix and pimafix, and you may start adding salt as Garofoli said. |
