I have noticed slightly tattered fins though that could have been caused after he crashed on the bottom and he is convulsing in the net I am not sure if this is just him trying to get away from me as I look into the tank or a nerve malfunction. He is laying on one side, I kinda wish he would pass watching him suffer is horrible.

The seperation of animals that are bullied is usually essential, leave it too late and you just get a dead fish, simple equation.

The discolouration could be anything from necrotic tissue to slime greying from velvet and protozoan parasites. Can you post a pic, it might help us to be more accurate? A lot of fish show a general darkening or discolouration around the head and eyes as a general sign of weakness , commonly prior to death, unfortunately its not a specific sign of any particular infection. It can just be a side effect of stress.

Noticed any other symptoms, ie: flicking, shaking, swimming head down, little white spots, regurgitation, raised veins and red streaks, tattered fins, abcesses, clouded eyes, hairy growths, swollen abdomen etc?

Thanks, the little guy is still trying to hang on but he was being eaten so I put him in a net in the tank. I suspect my dwarf gourami may be the bully.
As for the flakes, I have tried to give them other food such as brine shrimp but they ignore it.

Sorry but I think by the time your read this it could be too late. It could be he was getting a hard time from the other fish or his time is up.

I also noticed you only feed one type of food "flakes" this alone is not a good practice. In My Profile you will see my feeding program.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://
