Sick powder blue gourami | |
niallyb Fingerling Posts: 15 Kudos: 7 Votes: 0 Registered: 08-Feb-2005 | My powder blue looks a bit sick. Some of his scales hare hanging off and there is a small depression on that side also. It looks like he lost a fight with one of my rainbows (they bother each other sometimes). Any ideas? The tank is a 54G Bowfront, well planted 4 X rainbows 6 X cories 6 X harlequin rasboras 1 X golden zebra loach 4 X bloodfin tetras 1 X powder blue Gourami 3 X Ottos 1 X Cardinal Tetra 1 X small ancistrus (dont know exactly what it is) The water parameters have always come out clean with a ph of about 7.2. I've had the Gourami for about a year. Tonight I put in a half dose of pimafix and a tiny bit of melafix and took out the carbon filter. I dont want to dose any more than that because of the scaleless fishes. |

These Meds will help Primafix and Melafix just follow the instructions as directed. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. This is not average behaviour for rainbows though, so the gourami might have caused a rainbow genuine injury to trigger such an attack. Once aggreived though, rainbows hold a grudge, so I would remove the offending gourami to somewhere hes less likely to get battered. Several years ago I had a tiger barb who didndt get the message about not fin nipping rainbow adults , and the two adult male west australian rainbows battered him to within an inch of his life and he had to be removed. |
