I had two male platies in my 15 gal, it is fully cycled and everything, but today one of my platies died. Now, there was nothing wrong with him phisically, but the week i got him, he had been shipped in to the shop. He was quite in active for the two weeks i had him, acting more like a cory, just sitting around on the tank floor. My other platy is very healthy. Could the dead one of died from stress???
(i have got the platy a new, VERY active friend now, so don't worry about the remaining one)
Thankyou, BNF

I have had the same thing happen to me. One fish dies for no apparent reason, while the others will be fine - usually not long after buying them. Shipping is very stressful, then it could have been injured by the employee (not intentionally) while being netted - have seen employees have a hard time catching them. It is really hard to say for certain - so many things could have happened even before it made it to you.

Having him for such a short time two weeks there is a good chance the problem was there before you bought him.

Explain it to your LFS and see what they have to say.
