HOKESE![]() Mega Fish Posts: 1105 Kudos: 478 Votes: 271 Registered: 22-Feb-2003 ![]() ![]() | hi guys,well the treatment is sort of going ok,out of the 2 albinos that have it ,1 is like 90% healed up,hes colour is bright again and his skin looks great,however the other bigger 1 had a more advanaced case,well he is not healing up no where near the other 1,the holes havent gotten any bigger or worse,but i wouldnt say that they are gettin better ether.its like the metro is just stopping it but not enuff to heal it ether.see my vet is still on holidays.so here i am ![]() ![]() |

Hexamita scars can take a long time to disappear, but equally hexamita itself can be surprisingly persistant, you may still have a sick fish. |

Diet and great tank cleanliness help the disease symptoms to heal. As you mentioned in your post, one fish was hit harder by the infection than the other and should take longer to heal. Take a deep breath, step away from the meds and do a couple of water changes. Pea's are a great source of most of the vitamins your fish will be lacking from dealing with HITH and treatment. Just buy the frozen ones, shell them while frozen by 'squashing' them between your fingers, and drop them in the tank about 5 minutes later. My fish (all of them...) love pea's. Until you talk to your vet just keep doing what you're doing. The scars will probably never fully heal, so the fact the scaring is not going away doesn't mean your fish aren't getting better.
