Danios need to stay in schools & so, a minimum of 6 is needed.
How big is your tank & what are the tankmates?.

Can you test your water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? This will help us work out what the problem is in the tank. If you dont have the testkits take a sample of the water to your lfs and ask them to test. Get them to write the results down in numbers. Dont accept "fine" as their answer.
What filtration is on the tank?
How often do you clean the tank?
What percentage of water do you change out?

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
