I have cichlid fry in my tank which i have just discovered (very exciting!! and they are currently in a breeding net with the mother however i have unfortunately discovered my other fish all have ich, introduced into the tank by a friend who decided it was a good idea to suprise me with a tank of fish for christmas! he obviously doesn'y understand the importance of quarantining new fish!!

now i need to treat my tank (55g) with the babies in it. Can anyone help??

The only option I think would be to add plenty of stress coat turn of all lights reduce the feeding by one third and use a good scaleless fish cure at 50% strength. If this fails you will have to make a decision save the fry or save the breeders and get more fry later.

It might be hard but I would prefer to save the breeders and breed again at a later date.

thanks .. ill give that a go.. i want to try and save both.. i know its prob close to impossible!! i may have to use another tank and seperate the fry which are so far looking ok...

this is too stressful!!

d Just think how us oldies managed without something even like the WWW we all had to learn the very hard way and I cann assure you it was often very expensive mistakes.

It should never be stressful just challenging.

You can put the fry in a container with clean water & leave it floating in your tank. Then you can treat the tank for Ich, without affecting the fry.
