	Aquarium Ornaments

Fired, ceramic clay will not effect your water chemistry and food-safe glazes will not leech toxins into your tank. If the store doesn't have something Egyptian, try sculping it yourself. It's nice to be able to say "Yeah, I made that."

I may have to take a LONG drive to find a ceramics studio or the tools to make my own. I live in a wittle bitty town. I am keeping my fingers crossed though. I am sure I can find something. I can search for ceramics online. Would that be safe?

Not just because of the risks of untreated stone, but because I'm a fully-paid-up member of the 'natural' school of aquarium furnishing. Live plants, bogwood, natural water-weathered rocks that originate from streams or other watercourses, that's my idea of decor. And my fish seem to agree with me too, if last night's double Characin spawning orgy is any indication! Most I could see you having to worry about is a PH shift.
