I said that I wanted to be a writer since about the age of 5, I was a gluttonous reader (still am) and learnt to read when I was 3, wrote endless reams of short stories and poems from the moment I could hold a pencil, and every teacher said that I was going to end up being a writer. Now I am - well, in the embryonic stages of writing my first novel, but I have a degree in creative writing, have published a few short stories and articles, have worked in magazines for the last five years and am taking next year off work to write full-time. But then, I also recall wanting to be both a dentist and a paleantologist, so could've gone any number of ways! The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. - Oscar Wilde |

There was several related trades I was interested in but finally selected cabinet making as it was only a few minutes from home on the push bike. As soon as I started my apprenticeship at school I made the decision to become a cabinet making teacher, only thing was I had to do the five years apprenticeship plus five years in the trade after as well as several other related subjects. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. LOL For as long as I can remember I wanted to be an OB (although not thrilled with the GYN part ). Anyway, my grades in high school were way too crappy to consider med school, not to mention the time constraint (at least 10 years ) I wouldn't mind becoming a nurse-midwife though, I seriously doubt it this late in the game for me, but, never say never. crazyred Fish Addict LAZY and I don't care :D Posts: 575 Kudos: 360 Votes: 293 Registered: 26-Aug-2005 | Why, yes, Wish-Ga...that was my first foray into fish breeding I had tons of platies in my 29 and had to move them to my 55 because they were taking over. I finally got rid of most of 'em, but I did keep to females and two fry (that were too little to catch and ship). I'm now delivering Blue Parrot Variatus platies by the truckload in my 29. I'm going to have to start adoption proceedings pretty soon as there are a lot of fry in there. "Calling Dr. Crazyred....you're needed in delivery room 29 STAT!!!" Then I wanted to be a garbage man because what little boy doesnt like riding on the back of a big truck and throwing around bags of garbage? Plus my great-grandmother told me there was good money in being a garbage man. As for what happened, let's just say I don't want to meet the little kid who says "When I grow up I want to work in an office in New York City with a painful commute!" |

My mother just turned 50, got her degree in Nursing last year and is currently completing a Masters in midwifery. I've never seen her so happy, knowing that she's finally doing something she always wanted to do. Go for it! The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. - Oscar Wilde |
