def. I've gotten loads of help for things that aren't worthy of making a new thread for. I also just go there when I'm bored...interesting things happen in the chat

VOted for Stimulating and informative. I love chat (even though I haven't used FP chat much). If I want a quick answer, I can see who's there and if there are people that I have seen repond to other posts, and seemed knowledgeable, I will go venture in with my question. And if I don't have a question, I will just go in and say Hi...

As a time waster, well..I sit on this website most of my day at work....lol (its slow these days, and well, Im addicted). But at least Im learning too

i often just go in there to chatter about anything and everything. Its a good place to talk to the people not the 'fish people' if you follow.

And as soon as a fish question comes in, everyone swaps into HELP mode its good to see

How about none of the above?

It's fun when no one has a problem and informative when someone does.

Sure have, many times.

Yes I agree that at any given time, any given group of members who are in the chat room are most likely not talking about anything related to fish, but what's wrong with that? Chat for me is BOTH a quick way to get other members' opinions on what to do about diseases, fish compatibility, etc etc AND a place for me to relax, talk to some people who I have come to consider friends, share those happy moments that come along in life, and get advice on personal problems that I don't mind sharing.

Even though I have never met any member of Fish Profiles in person (racso doesn't count ), there are times I feel I have known many for years.

Thank you to everyone

Yep!!!

And I've been able to ask many a question that I didn't think needed to be posted...sure I could have used a PM but chat is faster...sometimes things come up and you want to get the rooms opinion on things.

Could it be used better...without a doubt...I'd love to have a series of chats on the weekends during the KBA...but can I think of anything specifically fishy related to discuss...not as such.

Is it for time wasters...not @all...I've learned alot thru chat, I'm all about multitasking and with the number of things I use my computer for but still have to esentially twiddle my thumbs during I find chat an informative and helpful use of my time.

Is some of the chat discussion useless....depends on what uses are being used .

^_^

I thought only members could use the chat?

it would be stupid for them to put it in premium membership, in case you need something really fast.

And I've proudly been wasting time in it for my entire stint at FP.
