I've heard that kangaroos frequently kill dogs and such. It might not be such a good idea to let one right next to a baby.

Actually, seeing as how I'm not very fond of kids, it seems like a good idea to me.

That looks like a very small kangaroo or it could be a Wallaby ( a smaller roo) Yes they will kill dogs a farmer friend has seen roos go into a dam naturally the dogs follow then the roo with its powerfull legs and body holds the dog under water until it drowns. Their main defence is to stand up on they back legs 6ft+ then rip into the chest of its prey with their very sharp claws. A full size roo is something not to mess with.

Remember Skippy the bush Kangaroo well it was not a kangarroo it was a wallaby in fact there was six Skippies

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

I thought it was a wallaby too, but the keeper told us it was a Kangaroo Island roo.

How cute! Kangaroos are one of my favorite animals...but I've never seen one up close, of course. I want to visit Australia just to see a Kangaroo. You guys are so lucky, Babel!

I've always said I'm going to go to Australia and smuggle a baby kangaroo back to the states with me. Of course that would be impossible and I'd never do it...but it would be cool...

They were realllllllyyyyy cuuuuuteeeee ...and quite tame, these guys anyway....They ate right out of my hand...until they decided they liked shanes bikkie better...
I'm glad they had the island kangas there and not the larger ones, I'd have been a bit scared of those.

We also had a not so close encounter driving from sydney to melbourn. Just happened to see a whole mob of them in a field so slam on brakes, jump out of car, scramble up hill, watch them hop away....rather stunning IRL....even though we were rather far off.

How apposite.

New Fossils Found In Australia - Including A Killer Kangaroo

Plus something called the "Demon Duck of Doom". A sort of real like Duckula the size of a Hummer.

By the way Babel, have you met any Dropbears yet?
