My husband said there was a song with crocodiles cleaning sharks out so I did a search. Here are the lyrics in another forum.

Good one BG The biggest crock I have seen in the wild was at least 16ft the local rangers always kept an eye out for it (asking fisherman) and always knew where it was. We found out later when the tidal river was low it was always under a particular tree. Guess who tied up there every day for a week to have lunch.

Cool photos. If I had my choice of being attacked by one of them, I would choose a shark. I hear they attack & then back off before attacking again, whereas I think a crock bites & hangs on while dragging you to deeper water?

Quite right.

Crocs tend to kill by drowning their prey. As far as I am aware they prefer rotten flesh to freshly killed and will often hide their kill to let it decay a bit.

Actually, crocs preferring rotten meat is a total myth. Rotting food has the potential to make them quite ill.

What you will find is that the clever critters will occasionally horde food and let it rot, thus attracting more and more animals / fish / scavenger species to partake of a free feed. The crocs then sit back and wait for the food (in the form of live animals) to come to them.
