A nice location to go for a swim

West End Ross Lake, Shreveport La

Keith

We have some crocks capable of doing the same with water buffalos in the top end of Aust. But there are some people who still camp close to the waters edge and swim there.

*Runs and gets his swimming trunks on*

Don't think I'd be dipping my toes in that particular swimming hole. Reminds me of the time I took a canoe out on the Okeefenokie swamp . Just alligators, no crocs with large game in their mouths, but I was determined to keep it that way.

My mom: Hey, looks like a tree trunk fell into the water up ahead.

Me: It's swimming across the water.. uhhh, I don't think that's a tree trunk.

* Becomes painfully aware that on the downstroke while paddling the canoe, the hand on the bottom of the paddle is only a couple inches from the water*

eeeep! This post should have come with a warning keith... that's a rather disturbing sight for those deer-lovers amongst us.

Nope, I won't be swimming there in a hurry.

I thought that was a deer he had there...

All the way up in Lake Granbury, which is near Fort Worth, TX, we have an alligator that gets to share a local swimming hole with us. There's a nuclear power plant on that lake, and apparently somebody threw him into the lake because they didn't want him any more. Since the water's RATHER warm by the plant, he survived and has flourished. He was a great rumor for years, then someone snapped a beautiful picture of him from about ten feet away while they were in their bass boat. I tried locating the picture, but couldn't find it.

Anyways, if ya'll live within 300 miles of the Gulf, you could be swimming with alligators...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.
