And anyone else who wants to see pics of a FOWLR tank. Everything growing in there besides fish, one shrimp, and some snails came on the live rock. Which I am selling. This tank will soon be converted to a FW planted tank. BTW I don't plan on winning any aquascaping contests with this one ATM. A bit better with plants than stuff that will scratch the acrylic.

PS Babel - needed to know K values for this tank, and can't get the lights from a DIY store because the fixture is a double bulb with square pin arrangement. :\ It is pretty nice though. I'm very excited for converting it. We just ordered a brand new filter and heater for it today. AquaClear filter and Jager heater.

Pajama Cardinals? AWESOME. They are some of my favorites because they're so funky.:%)

Hi,
For the 10% who have no idea... What is FOWLR?
Anyway for the saltwater tank, I would purchase the
compact flourscent bulbs in the 10,000K or higher
range. You can also purchase an actinic blue bulb.
Use one DAYLIGHT or SUNLIGHT and one Actinic blue
bulb. You should be able to purchase them online
from DrsFosterSmith, Big Al's or several others.

Frank - got 6500 K (the side-by-side type double bulbs) because we're converting the tank to freshwater. Sad, I know, but the consensus in the family is that a good planted tank is prettier than even a nice reef tank, and cheaper to boot. So, once that tank is all cleaned up we'll start the fishless cycle (got ammonia today) and when the cycle is over it'll be ready to add fish. This is going to be the nicest planted tank we have in the house... and I have one I plan on entering in the Aquascaping contest

Bubble algae eh? so that's what it is. I like it. It's decorative and it doesn't grow on the glass like the pink and purple coralline algae

I got a FOWLR tank....4X2X2 with a Yellow Tang, Blue Tang, Gold Rim Tang, a Bfly, Blue Face angel and an Emporer Angel. They seem to be ok so far...should get a bigger tank.

Btw, what is the brown thing on the right side of the tank on one of the rocks?

The anemone-looking thing? That's Ricordea false coral.

(also, the fish inhabitants of the tank are:
2 pajama cardinals
2 ocellaris clowns
1 anthias
1 yellow tang)

Kept a coral beauty in there for a long time, but he died just before I came home
