Yay I was only missing godzilla. Puzzle done. The 3 comics your missing are The flash, Kid flash, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Dissapointingly all you get for finishing the puzzle is the fact you finished it. Not even a good job message.

Well, I'm stuck. I've got four left on the farm one, leading off 'chicken', 'barn', 'cow' and 'cowboy'.

I'm confused. how does this game work?

Each item is related in some way to the item it is connected to. So, for example, something you find on the farm is "Chicken". Then yo have to think of some things connected with chickens - e.g., names of the different genders, what they produce, things like that. Then when you get to the outskirts of the square, the relationships between words undergo changes, because there's a word in the centre of the adjoining square that determines the kind of relationships to look for in that square. Some of which are connected in strange ways to the words that lie on the overlaps between squares. "Pig" is a word that overlaps the boundary between two squares, and when you get that word, you can click on the minimap and find out what awaits you in the next square.

It's supposed to be soemthing akin to the way a neural net stores knowledge conceptually, though whether its associative ties are the ones we would use within our brains is a moot point. I have a strange feeling that this was generated in part by computer, and so you not only have to get inside the head(s) of the humans that devised this puzzle, but inside the 'head' of the computer that was involved too - which is even nastier if the computer was running neural net software at the time ...

Oh and of course it uses American spellings, doesn't it? Which means that though I guessed that "plough" was one of the items that matched, it wanted me to spell it "plow". A little something to bear in mind for those of us who aren't part of the McEmpire ...
