Welp, I'll be gone for six weeks beginning this Saturday. I'll be in beautiful Quantico, Virginia enjoying the wooded countryside and the serene Potomac River. This is an all-inclusive trip, with airfare, meals, clothing, and board paid for by the United States Marine Corps. Ill be staying in a magnificent squadbay with 40 other men in one of the 5-star barracks on the grounds. Well have lots of fun events planned by one of the activity coordinators, to include 15 mile forced marches, obstacle courses, endurance courses, amphibious infiltration lanes, and scenic runs through the forest. Ill attend classes on leadership, combat medical aid, the history of the Marine Corps, and small unit infantry tactics for the fireteam and squad. Of course, Ill have some free time to relax by cleaning my rifle over and over again. With all this fun, I certainly wont mind going to bed at midnight and waking up at 4:00am! Yes, Im really looking forward to my stay at Officer Candidates School.
