I need the plugins that FF offers and that extra speed and swapping to windows isn't worth it for me. Its kinda the opposite to convenient |

poisonwaffle Mega Fish Posts: 1397 Kudos: 591 Registered: 11-Feb-2003 | Meh. I tried out Chrome the day it was released. I like it... it's shnazzy, shiny, decently fast, has good tab support, etc, etc... but doesn't work with extensions. I'm too attached to my firefox extensions (specifically AdBlock Plus) and the Awesomebar to switch. IMO Chrome is better than IE, but not better than Firefox (because of compatibility/expandibility). |

I see it's starting to settle out now at what.. 4%? Not bad for a startup, but tis google |

kitten Fish Guru Meow? Posts: 2266 Kudos: 2194 Votes: 19 Registered: 18-Nov-2003 | I used it for a few days. I do have to agree that it starts up faster than Firefox (which is pretty much my only complaint about Firefox, really). Chrome has that nifty intuitive thing when you start typing in the address bar, which is light years better than the others. Also, the 'most visited sites' listing on start up is pretty spiffy. On the other hand, you can't bloody compose email in hotmail. I mean, honestly, I don't use hotmail all that often, as it's normally my 'throwaway' email when I'm giving an address to stores or whatever. (Only special people get my gmail address. ) As others have said, the extensions in Firefox are really the perks. Besides? Who can resist the foxy? ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |
