Guess who's back - and with Puppies! | |
Mole Enthusiast Posts: 167 Registered: 23-Mar-2004 | Long time no see, most of you. I haven't been very active...at all...in the past year or so. But anyway, here's a few photos for you guys to enjoy. They're 4 weeks and a day old, Purebred chocolate labs, and there's 10 of 'em. And no, you can't have one. Puppies www.zopilotemachine.com |

Otherwise, you have completely lost my respect. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Natalie Ultimate Fish Guru Apolay Wayyioy Posts: 4499 Kudos: 3730 Votes: 348 Registered: 01-Feb-2003 | Every year in the US millions of cats and dogs are killed in shelters, because people don't spay and neuter their pets. The vast majority of these animals come from the casual "oops, my dog got pregant" breeders, puppy mills (quite literal dog factories that churn out hundreds or thousands of low-quality animals every year), or backyard breeders (people who think that just because they have a purebred dog, they have the right to breed it). These are the often sickly-looking, low-priced animals you see in pet stores or advertised in newspapers. Responsible breeders do not contribute to the problem or pet overpopulation. Responsible breeders only breed champion show dogs (in our case, AKC or ACFA champions) and have homes picked out for the babies before they are even born. They do not need to advertise in newspapers or sites like CraigsList. Responsible breeders will make potential owners of their animals sign spay/neuter contracts for non-show-quality (pet) animals, and they will take back animals they bred at anytime if the owner can no longer care for them. That said, I have never been to New Zealand so I cannot begin to say what the pet overpopulation problem is like there, if there is one at all. In the US pet overpopulation has reached epidemic proportions, hence my utter disdain for irresponsible breeders (not saying you're one, just saying there are a lot of them). Millions of animals needlessly suffer and die because people here are too ignorant to spay and neuter their cats and dogs. I feel that people who do not alter their pet-quality animals should be spayed and neutered themselves. Since you had no idea what I was talking about, I'm guessing that New Zealand doesn't murder millions of cats and dogs every year like irresponsible breeders do here. If that's the case, then congratulations on your new pets and I wish you luck finding good homes for them (if you haven't already). If you want a quick overview of the pet overpopulation problem we face over here, I recommend you watch these short videos (WARNING: they will probably be upsetting to many people). I'm linking to these for everyone on here to watch, so hopefully they will not contribute to the problem. In hope... Born to Die Doctor Death Project Pet EDIT: Well then, it's good to see that you appear to be a responsible breeder... They are becoming ever rarer around here. My first post wasn't an attack on you, it was an attack on irresponsible breeders. I'm sorry if it came out a bit rough, I just feel very strongly about the issue of pet overpopulation. I wish you luck with your dogs. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Dogs don't have 10 boobs do they? I gues the puppies have to rotate on the feeding. I have a female yellow lab, but we had here spayed. Too many folks selling labs around, the market is saturated and I didn't want to be stuck with a bunch of dogs. Labs are great and yours are beautiful!! "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." |

Puppies that have a good home are always a pleasure to see. I more or less agree with Natalie though. What Mole did is fine......... high quality & they all have homes. But there are way too many unwanted dogs & cats. I like them too much to bring anymore unwanted animals into the world. If I want anymore, it's easy to find a stray or unwanted dog or cat. All of our 4 dogs & 6 cats were stray or unwanted animals. Needles to say, they are all spayed or neutered, except for the wild male cat we feed. Even the two Great Danes & Dalmation we have or have had, were stray or from unwanted homes. There are many purebreds out there needing a good home. I didn't even look at the videos. I see too many real life sad stories where I live. I don't need to see anymore. It just makes me feel worse & I'm already my own mini animal shelter. |

Mole Enthusiast Posts: 167 Registered: 23-Mar-2004 | No problem Natalie, i understand completely as i hate to think of dogs & cats being put down or living on the streets. And Crazy, this one does have 10 teats, so they can all fit on at once! They're on solid food now, but they have milk once or twice a day. We've just returned to our normal sleep patterns - our family has been up 24/7 running shifts to look after them. They might be cute, but the 11pm-6am shift is pushing it This is our third litter in..ooh, about 5 years. We always keep one dog per litter, and it's not a business...more like a family event i guess, so we make sure they're well looked after. We've had dogs go to be seeing eye dogs, stud dogs, and even a Kiwi Bird tracking dog (for conservation purposes, lol) www.zopilotemachine.com |

They look like a fuzzy pile of melted chocolate. I'm very impressed, your labs sound like awesome quality stock. Mine comes from Kentucky hunting stock, so if I had her trained, she could be a top quality duck dog. As of now she's just a lazy, worthless pet. Not really, she's worth more to our family than money could buy, she's just goofy and lazy. tee hee She loves her Kong though. "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." |
