Hiccups | |

(not just 4 hiccups.. but the gut wrenching, breath stealing hiccups that last for 10 minutes or more at a clip). "it's the neck, it creaks under the weight of too much heavy thinking." |

For a while there I did have hiccups quite often - make sure you are well hydrated and have plenty of potassium! (being low on water or potassium is known to cause muscle spasms/twitching, which you might blame for the hiccups) ><> |

Bananas cost too much here at the moment to have any on had though. $15.99/kg. Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |

That would explain some of the things down there, some of the unearthly biological contraptions |

I hold my breath and as soon as i let go, (sometimes even before) I hiccup again. haha And - thanks to Jason and his brilliant "BANANA" idea, I say "BANANA" out loud in the middle of the night at work and didn't realize that my Partner was sitting right there. Not only did I still have the hiccups but he just kept repeating "BANANA" whenever it got quiet or I tried talk on the radio. The only thing that seemed to work was when we walked by the jewelery counter at the mall yesterday and mentioned a couple looking at engagement rings. hmmmmmmm "it's the neck, it creaks under the weight of too much heavy thinking." |

If that didn't work then: Get a reflexologist* to put a permanent marker dot on your hand to show you where the diaphram line is. Hands are easily accessible and holding the point will help the diaphragm relax (it contracting is what is making the hiccup). By the time the marker dot wears off you will have become familiar with the point and be able to find it. I suspect holding one's breath clenches the muscles even more merely delaying the hiccup... good tradional remedy though. *Reflexology is a pressure point therapy where areas on the hands and feet correspond to regions in the body. Gentle pressure is applied like having a relaxing massage. As an aside the engagement ring sojourn seemed to scare ye! ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |
