i don't know about how men used to bring flowers to their girls/women in "the old days" or something it seems to me that men have always had no problem *not* getting flowers, it's just we now have a mass media machine that tells women that they should *expect* flowers for any and all occasions there are other ways of showing appreciation to someone without buying them something that will die in a few days

I've shown him pictures of some of my babies that I've posted here and there, here and he says how beautiful they are, and that he loves themhehehe

indeed

though, although I love flowers, I'd far prefer something beautiful AND practical

My favourite suprise gift so far was a jar of blue coloured pebbles and 2 guppies he even had them behind his back!

Heidi,

Very beautiful flowers, indeed. And yes I agree that this is a trait that is lacking today in the "Modern Male."

I'm not bragging, but I send or pick up flowers for my wife at least once a month and she never tires of receiving them and always acts surprised (even if she's not)./:'

I beleive that most guys nowadays don't buy there girls (Partner) enough flowers.

I think this trend should be bought back.

RAST, I LOVE YOU!!!

Ok, I'll admit Racso has gotten MUCH better about flowers within the past few months. I got a gorgeous bouquet of roses for Valentine's Day and I got another bouquet just recently as a big apology. No details needed

As for
I read that someone here (fishprofiles) has a partner that is also into fish. Now that would be something to meet someone who also likes fish too!!
... Sharing a hobby like fishkeeping is WONDERFUL!!! Really I wasn't into fish when I first met him (I even remember saying they were dumb *hangs head in shame* ) but I gained interest, and well, a 55g and 7 tanks 5g or less later ...

My parents are tired of "fish stuff" being all over the place, (think my mom just about screamed the first time she saw frozen food in the freezer), my friends think I'm nuts, and the people I work with look at me like I have 2 heads , but I can always go to my Racso and find someone to finally laugh at my funny cory story, share the frustrations of losing a fish, and spend quality time with at all the fish stores. Yes we're huge dorks but we love every second of it

Indeed he was quite a catch

Congratulations on the flowers!

I think the best response I've ever gotten regarding flowers was when I got some for my mom because she was coming up to visit and the cashier that I paid for them (who was about my age and rather cute) commented that she never got flowers from anyone and that it was really sweet...

So I ducked back in that evening before the end of the shift and bought another bouquet...with the same cashier...and then gave them to her. She had completely forgot about the statement, but the giggle she made was probably the cutest sound I had ever heard...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

Hi everyone, I have to brag...I got flowers the other day...and other than getting them from my father, and from students (though the ones from my students have been quite beautiful) it is the first time I've received them from a guy...so feeling so happy I have to brag and post a picture of them

BEATIFUL flowers!!!!!
I agree - men just don't give flowers as much these days as they once did.....too bad

I have to laugh - I met my DH via the internet some 6 years ago and on our SECOND date he showed up at my door (almost an hour late mind you) with flowers. He told me "I owe you an apology. I should have had these for you on our first date BUT I had been out with 3 other internet dates in the last few months and all of those turned out to be horribly disappointed so I didn't even *bother* with flowers for our first date....as soon as I met you I was sorry. So I just *had* to bring you flowers this time and as it turns out it took four stops at shops to find flowers beautiful enough to give you and THAT is why I am late"........

I read that someone here (fishprofiles) has a partner that is also into fish. Now that would be something to meet someone who also likes fish too!!

Not sure but that *may* have been me -- I was lucky enough to end up with a husband who is also a fish nut. It "can" be a good thing but at times can be a bad thing in that two fish nuts can spend a lot more $$$ than just one.....

Agree! I havent been given flowers in ages. Cant remember when last time was. He says he doesnt buy them because roses are expensive. I told him there are lots of nice flowers besides roses but he's mister traditional or something.
