yes, I've been spending too much time looking at the lolkittahs, I know it's showing.

Anyway... Adam and I had driven down to Baltimore yesterday to go see the USS Constellation, popped into Barnes and Nobles to have a look since we'd already passed our two hour mark for the parking garage.

Their South American fishtank's still there and looking good!

I don't remember there being a puffer before, but Adam found one to play with. He came right up to the glass and followed Adams finger for a while.

Ooh, Brazillian puffer, I love brazilian puffers. I've had three. All died though.

So that's what they are. I puffers!

Adam and I see them a lot on the reef we dive locally, I swear I could suck down a whole tank of air just hanging there watching the guys.

You won't see many brazillian puffers on reefs in Australia, they're south american freshwater only.

I love puffers. They're so cool.

I was at my fish store tonight, and I'm so jealous. A little girl bought a tiny little dwarf puffer.

I swear, after my fish die off (which hopefully won't be for a while) I'm definitely turning the tank into a puffer tank!

I think puffers a cute too! My hubby did until one kept following him and chomping it's plates at him in the fish store. My hubby said," If that thing wasn't in a tank and had 4 legs... We'd be outta this store. In fact, I'd have left you!"

I saw one today at a LFS, but it wasn't for sale. It looked like both the eyes were cloudy, like cataracts? The shoppe keeper said they were treating him for it. What type of condition causes that? Anyone know? I didn't have time to stop, chat and ask a million. It looked so sad.

I completely forgot about that tank. It still looks amazing. I'm glad they are keeping it up

Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn.

The puffer fish looks like Colomesus asellus, though it's possible that it could also be the related Colomesus psittacus. Which both differ from the Carinotetraodon Puffers from Asia in growing to be larger, and being potentially more aggressive in the wrong setup.
