Last time I posted & asked if anyone else was freezing it wasn't long afterward that others posted saying their nice weather also turned bad. So......... here we ago again. Sleet & freezing rain has already hit here in Oklahoma. Warnings as always about the possibility of power lines going down from the weight.

So if you're not ready for a bad week-end, some of you might see to that.

Talk about a scare! Our power was just out for 2 hrs.! Hubby didn't think we'd get it back till morning. We heard that 1300 people were without power in town.

After finding candles & a flashlight , the next thing I did was to cover up the tank with a blanket. Now I'm on the comp. & found a site about what to do with your tank if the power goes out. I put it below, but if someone has a better site or wants to add more info. please feel free. And best of luck to you all!

It's icy here in NY right now... not so much on the streets but at least on the driveways and sidewalks. My roommate tried to walk to church which is only a few blocks away and she said she made it a few houses, slipped but *didn't actually fall* a few times and gave up b/c it was just too hard.

I think today is a great day to sit in side with a good book, a cup of coffee and just relax. (at least until the boyfriend wakes up and decides we have to go play outside.) haha

Edit: did I say a CUP of coffee?? I meant a JUG of coffee.

We are just getting drizzling rain up here (2 hrs north of RJmcbean). I hear we are in for 10" of snow tonight. I'm guessing we'll end up with 5. I live in a valley and many storms go right over us.

They were going on all weekend and most of yesterday morning in Michigan on the news about it. It got here, roads were ok. Side streets was trashed and alot of ice on the cars. Storm was kind of a let down after all that hype. But its supposed to snow here later today

Gee...
"WE" just wanted to share with the rest of the nation!

We are now bright & sunny & a balmy 22 degrees. We might
go into the 30s by the end of the week.

Yep, we're getting a cold blast down here in the tropics as well. It's in the 50's today. It's supposed to only be in the 40's tomorrow with freeze conditions "possible" overnight.....I guess this is what goes for winter down here. I hope all y'all stay warm.

Took 2 buckets of ice melt to get my truck unstuck while it was in the middle of an asphalt driveway. Wasn't going anywhere on that sheet of ice. Doesn't help I forget where I put the sandbags last year and everyone is sold out so I can't weigh down the back tires. Stupid rear wheel drive.

This reminds me the ice storm we had in Montreal exactly 10 years ago. We lost power for 7 days . Now with 3 tanks of fish, not sure what to do when there's a prolonged power outage (of more than 24 hour), which is not uncommon here ..
