Ice storm is here | |
fish patty Fish Addict Posts: 539 Kudos: 223 Votes: 255 Registered: 04-Oct-2006 | Last time I posted & asked if anyone else was freezing it wasn't long afterward that others posted saying their nice weather also turned bad. So......... here we ago again. Sleet & freezing rain has already hit here in Oklahoma. Warnings as always about the possibility of power lines going down from the weight. So if you're not ready for a bad week-end, some of you might see to that. |

We heard that 1300 people were without power in town. After finding candles & a flashlight , the next thing I did was to cover up the tank with a blanket. Now I'm on the comp. & found a site about what to do with your tank if the power goes out. I put it below, but if someone has a better site or wants to add more info. please feel free. And best of luck to you all! http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/management/greco_power%20out.html |

My roommate tried to walk to church which is only a few blocks away and she said she made it a few houses, slipped but *didn't actually fall* a few times and gave up b/c it was just too hard. I think today is a great day to sit in side with a good book, a cup of coffee and just relax. (at least until the boyfriend wakes up and decides we have to go play outside.) haha Edit: did I say a CUP of coffee?? I meant a JUG of coffee. It got here, roads were ok. Side streets was trashed and alot of ice on the cars. Storm was kind of a let down after all that hype. But its supposed to snow here later today Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

It's supposed to only be in the 40's tomorrow with freeze conditions "possible" overnight.....I guess this is what goes for winter down here. I hope all y'all stay warm. Wasn't going anywhere on that sheet of ice. Doesn't help I forget where I put the sandbags last year and everyone is sold out so I can't weigh down the back tires. Stupid rear wheel drive. |

Now with 3 tanks of fish, not sure what to do when there's a prolonged power outage (of more than 24 hour), which is not uncommon here .. |
