... such as myself.

There's been a thread or two recently about eating fish and fishing, and I thought this article was interesting.

Article

Within the article there are a few links, and I found this one to be pretty cool.

I'm not trying to say one thing or another, just something interesting to read over.

Since I eat fish almost daily, I should be happy that 99% of what I eat is either on table 2, or not on any of those charts.

i don't eat fish very often, and the fish that comes out of the lakes and rivers here are *loaded* with mercury ] it's so bad that pregnant women and small children are advised not to eat any of the fish around here.

It's pretty sad that probably the safest fish you can eat is canned salmon, i assume because those fish are farm raised.

As for sharks and swordfish, I personally think that mercury content is one of the lesser reasons you shouldnt eat them... the number one reason being that their numbers are so low at this point...

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how this affects our own fish? Of course, they use fish meal in many of our processed fish food products...

Thank goodness we live in the land of OZ. Yes there is some danger in some of our larger fish and also some northern Reef Fish.

If our waters/fish was that poluted I should have been dead many many years ago.

That's interesting....I was happy to see most of the fish I eat regularly on the second table. Tilapia, shrimp, ocean perch, salmon, etc. I LOVE fish in my tanks AND on the dinner table, and since I don't eat mammals I eat it quite a bit. I really think there are risks of contaminants in any foods we eat now, and would much rather enjoy the health benefits of eating fish than eat hormone-laden beef or something but that is just my opinion.

Precisely my position.
