I'm sorry. I was just thinking the other day that you hadn't posted much lately. I remember the miserable days. I had a bladder infection the last three weeks I was pregnant, and it caused him to come two weeks early. It was not fun at all. Maybe your doctor will have pity on you and induce you. At least you know that it will all be worth it in the end, especially when you get your first little girl.

Did you ever decide what you were going to name her?

Oh, and to you girls who haven't had kids yet, don't let someone else's miserable time effect your decision making or scare you off from motherhood, because no two pregnancies are alike.

OK, kitten is here....Last night was pretty painful, but I made it. Today is going better. Don't get me wrong, folks, I adore children, remember this is number 4 for me. There must be a definate plus in this for me to keep it up, wouldn't you think? As for the problems with my pregnancies, I knew about them right from the beginning. In fact with my second child I spent 10 weeks on the couch. So I knew it was probable with this little one. As a rule, pregnancy and delivery is NOT a big trial to most women. The pain of childbirth is not that bad. I had to have my little toenail removed once, and believe me, I would MUCH rather give birth 10 times over than ever have to go through that again. And if you have a low pain tolerance, epidurals are wonderful. I had a spinal block with my last delivery, and am hoping to be able to have time for an epidural this time...they really help. My last two deliveries I pushed twice and delivered SWEET! I was my old self within a weeks time.

As for not wanting to have children, that is your choice, but believe me when I say that your children are so much different than other people's children. And there are great things about pregnancy....The feel of your baby moving for the first time is just such a miracle. You know that child before you ever see it. And to touch your baby after working so hard to give her life.....the feeling is just indescribable. You will never feel such love in your life as when you say hello to that life you have nurtured inside you for all that time. Labor lasts such a short time, the pain is short, the rewards so many. I will miss it, believe me. There is a part of me that is very sad that we have decided that this chapter of our lives is over.

When I was younger, in High School, my main goal in life was to be wealthy enough that I would never look old. Now, I have a few white hairs, and to be honest, they are kinda pretty to me, they give me character. A happy home has kept my face pretty unwrinkled, and my goal is to never have a home that is empty of children's voices. I would say that is a much happier and less cynical life to live, wouldn't you?

Hello Honey, sorry to hear you're bed-ridden. But what's 6 weeks when you're about to have 20-something years of stress oops I think that came out wrong...

I was wondering why we hadn't heard from you for a while. I was driving past your place on my way from Texas to Canada and considered dropping in. Maybe I should have. (One day I'll get your address. )

ooOOOoo if we're doing books...Les Miserables nice and long ...

I second terry, also Garth Nix's Aboressen series...childrens books but still lots of fun.

As for being scared off from having kids, as much as I love them *sends Raspberries to Ryan* I was turned off long long ago ...and am continually reminded about a dozen times a year .

Scrapbooking!! That's one of my must do's ... um - always homework But wait - you're out of that.
Books
Rot your brain watching tv
Laptop
Magazines
Plot reorganizing your fishtanks

Hmm - stuck for now Sorry! But I hope everything goes well for you! (And you don't get too bored!)
But the kitty will help - if he/she stays put ...

I can't say I've ever had to face bed for 6 weeks, but when ever I'm faced with a killer flu every year or two, I pick up a nice big novel or watch TV until my brain rots, depending on how well my eyes are focusing.

Poor honeybeze, I am so sorry to hear you are stuck in bed. Now, I have to add my 2 cents worth after reading everyone's posts. As RSCutiePie96 said "no two pregnancies are alike" so please don't let someone else's difficulties affect your own decisions about your life. I had a relatively easy pregnancy... some sciatic (sp?) nerve probs at the end but when I finally went into labor I did not actually think I was having real labor pains... it didn't hurt half as much as monthly cramping did. And, I delivered that baby in 20 minutes of pushing... that is nothing. So, just as a reminder to everyone, and especially you, honeybeze, you are doing this so you can hold a precious beautiful baby girl in your arms. As I just commented to a friend yesterday, when you become a parent it's like you finally realize the true meaning of life-it makes sense. Anyhow, sorry for the long ramble and good luck. I second the idea of getting a laptop (we got one when my daughter was 2 mos old and it's great-I can check my email in the living room while she's watching sesame street).

*hands Honey her 'bedstash'*

crossword books
X stitch thingies
bead projects
Terry Pratchett novels
colouring books (very good for the bleh moments)
CD player and books on CD
TFH magazines etc etc

*ferrets thru top drawer*

and a manicure set and polish

I hope that helps a bit Honey! Failing that, get a sunlounge and loll about in a paddock and watch the critters

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

I am on "modified" bed rest......AGAIN! If my medicine (terbutaline)works, I can be up and about for short periods, but I spend most of my time so exhausted and in pain that I don't get out much. I also don't get to go on the net as much, because the chair isn't conducive to keeping the baby in. I have (as of Monday) 6 more weeks of this, and I am starting to go a bit stir crazy. I have often in the last 3 weeks asked myself what I was thinking. I am so sick of being HUGE, my hips keep popping out of joint, and I feel like the baby is a bowling ball strung between the tiny rubberbands that are my muscles, and they are rapidly fraying....Could you guys post me some stuff to help me make it through? The last time I was in the hospital (there shall be many more before this ends) the doctor took one look at me and said, "If you haven't scheduled his vasectomy yet, you are NUTS!" I would have to agree with that assessment. All I can say is that I am glad this will be over soon, and pray that I will go early once the medicine is stopped at 38 weeks. With my luck lately, though, once I am ALLOWED to have the baby, she will sit there, quite content to stay where she is]:|

Ugggg honeybeze, you are sooo reaffirming my belief in adoption....although my Dr (and others) have mentioned that the only way for me to get rid of the pain that causes me to pass out is to actually get pregnanat life's just not fair for this side of the world....dunno why you're going thru it again

A new kitty should be great ...hopefully it'll be a cuddler.

If you're looking for a nice safe not yucky film and you havent' seen whale rider yet, that's on my absolute must see list...I've been known to tie people down and make them watch it .

Animal therapy should help a lot. I love snuggling with a cat or ferret when I'm not feeling good, so snuggle up and like babs said get a good movie. And when Mom gets home, I'll try to help more.

EDIT: agrees with reason 5 million...

I am taking whole pills today so I can go get my new baby kitty this afternoon. She is a tortie point himalayan that I spent WAY too much money on, so that should occupy me for awhile. I am used to this type of thing each time I get pregnant, but DANG! I am not a spring chicken anymore. At 32, I am wondering why women have children in their 40's. They must be very determined.

OMG wow this is reason 5 million why I'm not gunna have kids

I agree on the laptop or maybe a wireless keyboard and mouse ($50-$60) that you could use in bed, or wherever is "conducive to keeping the baby in". Hopefully you can watch your tanks @the very least...or some really good movies ....that have nothing to do with babies @all

6 weeks ...I'm going to stop complaining about the pain I'm in this very moment ! and whatever you need...go make that hubby of yours get it for you

^_^

awww Honey can you borrow a laptop from someone? Then you could stay in bed and be on the net more often. My mom's a midwife and she might know some tricks for getting through tough times like this, I'll ask her for you when she gets home from the hospital. (she's delivering a baby now ) Hope you feel better. (((((hugz)))))
