OK I can't help itand I hope she doesn't mindbut I wanted to announce that one of our youngest members will be going for her purple belt in karate tomorrow

For those that don't know this is going to intel that she go against a minimum of 6, other people...yes that would be 6 against 1, with the possibility of it being 8

So I just wanted to formally wish kts good luck, and I'll be there to cheer you onI know you can do it, let's whip up on those others

Hi,
I wish them luck and success.

A purple belt.. I knew of white, yellow, red, brown,
and black (probably not in order) but never purple.
How many belts are there any way?

in tae kwon do, purple is the next step up from white. i'm sure there are variants of karate where they use a similar belt scheme.

I honestly can't keep track of all the belts, though they were explained to me...sorry kts, just too many for this old woman...but it was only back in May that she got her Green belt or was it Blue...either way she went from one to the other...and now already into Purple I think Black is next Hopefully she will stop in and then she can give you the list of them better than I can...and to think of what a sweet sweet kiddo she is:88)and then she turns around and whips up on these other kids (some bigger than she is) in karate...if she doesn't stop in maybe her sister will? Ok girls where are you? Heidi

EDIT: They should get on at some pointbut as for the colors of the belts these are the ones I know, at least I think I've got them downAnd uh there are colors before the Green I just don't know them(white, orange, yellow,?????)

Both the schools where I took tae kwon do, did't have a purple belt.. It really does vary by the school, not the style..
