There is seamail aswell which I was told would take about 6 weeks to get there. I didnt want to make the receiver wait that long though!

Urm, it was about $30 for a bit under 2Kg (it's less paper work too if it's under 2kg ) & it took about 3 weeks to get there (they told me 7 - 10 days... pfft )... that was by regular Airmail... think it would have been about another $5 to send it by priority Airmail...

Don't know if there's a cheeper way to do it... prolly is, but it'd prolly take longer too... (if that's possible )

I FOUND BUTTERFINGERS! They were in a gourmet chocolate shop in the city all along. Mum and I were there on Tuesday and we both saw them and cheered (we all got addicted when my sister came back from America, but none of us have had one for 10 years).

At $3 a pop, they were about the most expensive chocolate bar I've ever eaten...we bought 6 of them...$18 on chocolate .

But they were soooo good. I wish I had another one right now!

Sin, how much did it cost to post all that to the US? I have a friend over there badly missing Aussie goodies, and it's his birthday in a couple of weeks.

If it's not too expensive I'm definitely up for a goodies exchange with someone!

Yes, the US definitely still have Butterfingers! We also have them in other things like little butterfinger balls, and we crunch them up to put them on ice cream. If I ever have the postage to send some I'll keep you in mind!

Yay for tim tams and vegemite! (but never at the same time ) Making the big mess when they collapse is part of the fun. Just remember to check your face before you go out in public. Melted tim tam all over your chin is not a good look, no matter what country you're in.

PSST you can get tim tams here... www.candyaisle.com they usually have them there. And if you have a location close to you like i do usually they will import any foods from England or Australia on request.

Tim, you have redeemed yourself. Milo is the greatest! I have a 1kg tin of it in the cupboard right now...think I'll have a hot Milo, and maybe use a Tim Tam as a straw (that's the truly Aussie way to do it, Tryst!)

I'd be happy to send some Tim Tams to any American who is willing to send me some Butterfingers in return - do they still have them? My sister went to the US ten years ago and brought some back .

She gave me my first Reese's Peanut Butter Cups too, and Hershey Bars. Luckily, those are available over here now too.

Things Canadian - saskatoon berries, Coffee Crisp bars and smarties, MacIntosh Toffee. If you can get barley candy, that's definately Canadian.

OOPS - Sorry it's Crispy Crunch Bars not Coffee Crisp.

Thanks to ~Sin~ for coming to the rescue and sending me a breakup care package all the way from Australia! I got Original and chocolate fudge tim tams, mint slice, kahlua slice, a jar of vegemite, Cadbury Flake bar and Snowflake bar.

The goodies are all great, I even liked the vegemite. And all you people said I wouldn't. Hah!

Tim tams are absolutely amazing. . . I would kill for them and I might even have to make a trip to Australia just to pack a suitcase full of them for home! I tried the coffee trick. . . bit off both the ends and sucked some spiked Irish coffee through a tim tam. It was one of the greatest things I've ever tasted! Maybe it's because I'm not Australian but I made a horrible mess when I did it, chocolate all over my face and hands.

Mint slice is amazing. . . reminds me of After Eight chocolates but with a nice crunchy biscuit on the bottom. YUM! Kahlua slice is also great, though it doesn't really taste like Kahlua to me. . . still amazing.

So now I'm hopelessly addicted to Arnott's bikkies. . . I think bikkies is the correct term anyway, but stuck all the way over here across the world where I can't get them. If what I've heard about the cute outback guys is true, I might even have to move to Australia now! All thanks to people like ~Sin~!

Feel free to donate any spare pennies or tim tams to the "Move Tryst to Australia Fund," just drop me a PM.

I'm sending a care package full of Canadian goodies to Sin, a bottle of 100% Grade A Canadian Maple Syrup included, so maybe she'll get as addicted to our food as I am to hers. . . I doubt it, though, not when she has stuff like tim tams and mint slice available to her every day! I'm so jealous!

So far it looks like I'll be sending the syrup, a container of Map-O-Spread, a jar of blueberry jam, maple leaf cookies, a few packets of Tim Horton's Fine Grind Coffee, tootsie pops, Strawberry-Vanilla Wafer cookies and whatever else I can think of before I send the package out. I'm looking for maple sugar candies but I'll have to search a little deeper, haven't been able to find any yet. If anyone has any suggestions of shippable goodies to include in the package, please let me know.

Here's a pic of my vegemite toast

Tim Tams ... I've heard of those ... I've been told they're a bit like the UK biscuits called Penguins, but with lots of yummy fillings ... anyone got a pic of the wrapper?
