We have 30 degrees too.....Of course I'd rather be back in Maryland frolicing in the snow ...I suppose I'll have to make do with diving on the weekends instead.

Tim never wears anything besides shorts. I hate shorts.

I guess I'm not one to complain, however, given that I wear hoodies even in the middle of summer (115+ degrees).

Now almost 50F here today, although the giant boulders of ice aren't going anywhere soon. Many areas still don't have sidewalks dug out...

The horse waterer finally thawed today. I'm done hauling water. Definitely getting pipes fixed by next winter.

My hottub-pond froze over in January with like two inches of ice (temperatures were in the teens). It was pretty awesome. A few days ago it was in the upper seventies, and the Mosquitofish in the tub were active again.

Chicagoland has been hit pretty hard, temperatures ranging in the low teens and twenties down past zero for a few weeks. It's finally warming up again; our 8" of snow is melting.

The view from my new apartment as of three days ago.

Thanks, wish-ga. And yes, I'm totally enjoying it, even if we're still in the process of settling in and unpacking.

Hey, I get a cat and now a 55 gallon tank and my parents can't say boo about it. I'm a happy kitten!

Our snow has melted, not a week after we got it. On the other hand, forecast has been calling for more snow this weekend...

Cat's enjoying the birdwatching...

We had a mixture of snow, freezing rain and sleet last night. Craziness. I was going to go to a brunch today... not sure if I'm going to leave the apartment.

1/2" of ice under 12" of snow. Much of eastern Iowa is running on backup generators since yesterday and they are guessing until Monday or Tuesday. Everyone would be without power but most small towns here have their own generators. Lots of the lines between towns are down though. The interestate was closed yesterday because of downed powerlines. That means my mom's house and stable has no power since it's not connected to the town and county lines are down. That also means after getting that stupid automatic waterer thawed it has no water again. The pump to the well that runs to the house and stable requires electricity. My mom is hauling water from my aunt's house across town and melting snow again. Lucky it's not all that cold out(barely below freezing) but without a 4wheel drive vehicle I'm still stuck in the apartment unless I want to make my way across the ice on foot. I broke my ankle 2 years ago doing that.

Well the news actually just said there are 1000s with absolutely no power for possibly more than a week. It's not just the lines themselves that went down but the poles that hold up the lines snapped. They were showing several of them that broke off a few feet above the ground and took down hundreds of miles of lines.

Most of the snow was gone but yesterday we got probably another 4". It was supposed to turn to freezing rain last night but fortunately that didn't happen. Still had a 2 hour delay with schools though

It's 38 degrees here. That means it's almost 40. Why, it's spring! Sure feels like it after the freezing temps we've been having. I was walking around with just a sweater instead of my jacket. And the window is open (which is also because being the top level apartment, we get all the heat from below us, plus I had the oven on).

It's turning spring here in Boise, Idaho. Temperature in the mid-50's to mid-60's for the next week. And we have the time change this weekend. One of my favorite days of the year. It will be light until 8 p.m. now and pretty soon it will still be light at 10:00 p.m.. I can't wait. Almost time to start getting the garden tilled, and planning what vegetables to plant this year

I thought it felt unreasonably hot. That is, it did whenever I wandered too far from my airconditioner.

Hope it cools down somewhat tomorrow, when I actually have to leave my house and go to work.

It's currently 66 F in northwest Florida. It has been raining all morning and afternoon, so there isn't anything to do outside. But the forecast is going to be sunny next week, but yeah I'm really excited for spring!

We don't have spring down here. It was "spring" in January. We've leaped into summer with 80's and 90's. I like Deep South Texas from November to about March or April....after that, misery sets in with 100's and humidity that suffocates.

On the upside....my neighbors have a HUGE orange tree in their front yard and it is blossoming and the scent is FANTASTIC!!! I could breathe that in all day.

Well I thought Spring was here, but now I'm thinking winter came back. The lows have been in the low 30s here this past week, dipping as low as 23F one night. The highs are in the 50s. Supposed to get back into the 70s soon though! I can't wait.
