When I was a kid we had a mantis in our house & my Mother smacked it with the straw end of a broom hoping to kill it. When she looked at it, it was still standing, but had it's front legs crossed over it's head as if to protect itself from any more blows. She was so taken by it's posture that she felt sorry for it then & had one of us kids (not me ) take it outside & let it loose. |

People think differently from each other on different subjects. Some people just don't think. If it's in their house, it doesn't belong there, so they are going to kill it to make sure it doesn't reproduce anymore of it's kind to get into their house. Thankfully, I have become a little more selective than my Mother. |

Our garden has a lot of these mantises and they do a good job taking other insects like spiders etc. Mantis are a very interesting insect |
