I think she vented, which we all need to do sometimes.

and now we're closing this, because this facet of kids is a subject not everyone is going to agree on!

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Obviously those who think this is a lot of fuss over a toy, has not have children that have wanted one special toy, or had the desire to please or surprise their child with something

I have a suggestion for you pug. Don't make assumptions about people you don't know.

Obviously those who think this is a lot of fuss over a toy, has not have children that have wanted one special toy, or had the desire to please or surprise their child with something you know they will just love. In my case it was a china doll for one daughter, and a bride doll for the other. Some day I hope they will be able to experience that special joy for themselves.

eBay is an option...probably at least one for sale on there. Otherwise, drive down to Pt. Roberts, get a PO box, and send them a money order from the Pt. Roberts PO....its only a 30 minute drive.

Sorry for posting this thread. Obviously (R0B) I didn't mean to offend anyone. I just thought one of my new "friends" from this site might have some creative ideas.

EdgarFanCLS, you're right. There are lots of toys in the world. This is not something she is asking for - it is something I would like to give her. If you had any idea what we've gone through in the last year or so and the kind of child she is, any "hubbub" is more than worth it.

I have emailed and called the company (actually twice) and they will not, under any circumstance, ship to Canada (I'm in Vancouver - not exactly a small city).

Thanks for your offer Stormy5. I may just take you up on that. Your kindness is really appreciated.

Again, sorry for the post.

All this hubbub over a toy?

There are lots of toys in this world. I can't think of any that would be worth this much grief.

Just venting against some American companies with stupid practices.

I've been looking everywhere to get a special toy for my daughter. I was told they don't make them anymore so I gave up. Well, lo and behold, they are making them again. YAY !

Now the kicker...

They will not ship to Canada. They will not ship to an American address with payment from a Canadian credit card. They do not have a Canadian distributor. I don't have any relatives or friends in the US to ask to purchase the item on my behalf and ship it to me. We are talking about a stuffed animal for goodness sake not Cuban cigars (which we CAN get) !! The only way I can get it is to buy it through E-bay for over 3x the original price plus shipping from the UK... I don't think so.

Can anyone think of a creative way around this dilema ??

I know which show you are talking about. If I could find the toy and get it shipped to me, I would not mind sending it on to you. I suppose an international money order would be the easiest solution. I guess we would both have to just go on a mutual trust with the whole thing. I do not mind helping though if you would like my help. Let me know.

You may have to look closer but the Nick Jr website may be able to help. It may ship to Canada.

I'm not sure why an American company would not ship to Canada. If you can buy with visa on Amazon.com to anywhere in the world other online companies may do it too. Maybe target online shopping sites as they are geared to posting purchases. ??? just an idea

Good luck and let us know how u go!

[3 unsuccessful attempts at doing a live link... u will have to cut and paste it I am afraid] sorry!

R0B - I don't think MegsMom meant any offense, I think she's frustrated and venting and she's right there are lots of dumb Canadian companies and customer servise is dead .... but that's a whole other issue.

MegsMom - There are lots of Americans on this site. I'm sure somebody (Stormy5???) would be willing to purchase the toy and mail it to you if you agreed to send them a cheque for it. That's the great thing about this site... you have friends everywhere !!!

Oh believe me there are plenty of dumb Canadian companies and don't even get me started on the government owned corporations ! ]

It is a Max (the bunny) doll from the Nick Jr. show, Max & Ruby. My daughter takes her invisible Max everywhere and I mean everywhere ! He has to be buckled in the carseat, he has to be in the shopping cart - buckled no less.

She doesn't ask for much - at Christmas when I asked her what she wanted she said, "no thanks momma, I have enough toys. Let's get some to give to kids who don't have anything." Awe... She's done what she could to help me out while I've been sick over the last 7 months. Other than getting into this :%):%) hobby this past year, the last couple of years haven't been the greatest so I'd really love to do this for her.

What toy is it exactly? Is there anyone on here you would trust enough to do it for you? I have had issues similiar to yours, but luckily I have a couple of friends who travel all over the world. If it was not a massive pain in the behind I would be willing to help you get it.
