Well... need I explain? What do you do for fun in your free time? From hobbies to things you do sporadically.

Fish tanks are an expensive addiction

fun...whats that? After I work 50-60 hours per week, have class 8-16 hrs/week, study, do the volunteer EMT thing, my fun is laying on the couch and watching a movie. I do also enjoy doing stuff on the lake when the water isn't hard.

I bead.

I play with the puppy and the pony.

I cook nasty fattening foods...and eat them.

I don't have as much fun as I used to, and I don't know why. Seems all the unfun stuff is most important. Go figure!

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Fun = Movies, going to garage sales, playing pool, going bowling, visiting people, rearranging something in the house, training our dogs, playing games, getting on FP, & camping before we got all these animals!

Lazer tag is fun & paint ball would be except those balls hurt, leaving welts!
(I tried it once)

For fun? What else would a git do but aggravate politicians, belittle people who abuse animals and generally give opinion on everything, moralise heavily, and try to change society? I love a good conspiracy theory, and I have a minor interest in philosophy.

Aside from that, i'm keen on photography, film making and illustration, and study the animal kingdom in a general way, and I really enjoy observing wild animals. I also listen to a lot of music, generally stuff with a decent melody , that avoids repetition, in the general rock genre.

I also watch a lot of movies, and shout at the tv a lot. Sometimes when time and finances permit I rescue animals , fish, reptiles birds and mammals, even the odd insect. I couldnt say its fun because you run into abuse a lot, but it makes me feel like im doing something worthwhile.

Fly fishing when I can - not nearly as much as I should - but something that seems to be more important and which probably isn't always seems to get in the way.

Vegetable gardening in the summer months. Do love those fresh picked cucumber's, tomato's and other assorted veggies.

Camping - again as time allows.

Spending time with my lovely wife.

That about sums it up.

I've been playing golf once or twice a week lately and I also like to play pool and snooker. Also when I can I love to play some tennis. I use to play texas hold'em a little. Oh and when I can I like to go out to clubs with friends.

"fish patty... re-arranging, you do like i do sometimes and just relocate the same junk to a different space? lol"

monkeyboy- That's mainly WHY I rearrange stuff, LOL, except then the junk goes, either to where it belongs or out of the house, like the thrift store.

600! I won't say what I got last night.

Thanks for stating that........... that explains a lot.

Assuming that doing things for fun and hobbies are not synonymous, there's not really all that much to do in college during down time, aside from going out and/or sleeping. I suppose;

parties, to some extent
super smash (o)/ mario kart/goldeneye with the 'roomy/floormates
guitar/mandolin/violin jamming with whoever's on the floor
nerf gun warfare in the plaza on fridays
ubiquitous downloading of various sorts
just chilling

Most of the things that occupy me fun wise are already posted in this thread.

Oh, and I've had a LOT of fun just lately teaching some other people on another board all about quantum mechanics. Everything was going swimmingly while I introduced the rudiments, then I rather upset what was an otherwise seamless flow of progress by introducing them to spinor calculus. Heh heh heh.

I like to play paintball... but the area is pretty limited on where I can go. Sports and videos are staples...

Read - my number one necessity in life
Organise crazy theme parties (current one is Hawaiian theme, with plans to build an ocean made out of cellophane with islands made out of white sheets covering cushions in my friend's backyard. Last one was Horror.)
Good food, good wine, good company
PS2 games
Making creative things (currently planning for my wedding is giving me lots of opportunity to do this - we are making our own centrepieces for the reception, our own invitations, etc.)
Graphic design (when I'm doing it for things other than work)
In general, spending time with my family, friends, fiance - whatever this entails (drinks at the pub, dinner/lunches, coffee, DVDs, etc.)
Snorkelling and swimming at the beach
Camping / travelling in general
Searching for bargains on eBay
Internet in general

Hmmm. Maybe you should come out on the boat with Babel and I to Horseshoe Bay. Coral reefs there make great snorkeling.
