The only problem with snorkelling being that you have to head to the surface for air periodically, and coral reefs contain masses of fish and invertebrates that you want to keep looking at for as long as possible ... which means that if ever I was in a position to go exploring a coral reef, I'd want full scuba gear with rebreather tanks so I could stay as long as possible without having to surface.

Actually, if that was me, I'd want the full Jacques Cousteau setup - big ship, onboard submersibles, decompression chamber and half a dozen other fellow fish nuts pointing underwater cameras at everything that moves.

Don't want much do I?

Apart from anything else, some interesting things live at depths that are inaccessible to snorkel diving - Paracentropyge boylei being just one creature I can think of off the top of my head. And that's before I start thinking about moving off the continental shelf and heading for abyssal trenches. What are my chances of getting Bill Gates to hand me $100 million in a brown paper bag for the exercise?

When you get your Jacques Cousteau setup, give me a call, I'll volunteer to be your on board medic!

Doedogg, if I am ever that fortunate, chances are there'll be room on the ship for at least two dozen FPilians to come and join in the frolics without being actual full time crew members, but, a ship's doctor is always handy to have, so welcome aboard.

Can I be the large hairy man that repels pirates? Any excuse to get on that ride.lol

Seriously though , wouldnt it be great to do an FP field trip? It would be like we got all serious and scientific. Although its possible my specimen photography might take a little extra photoshop work after 10 mai tai's or so..

Can you be charged drunk in charge of a camera while wearing an aqualung? Its not like I can cause public disturbances in the ocean Macro pics of shark dentition coming up.

Lol im just one of those people born to be bitten .

At night I shall sit in the belly of the ship with Dave listening to whalesong , comparing scars. "Lets drink to our legs!"

I'm not a Dr, just an EMT training to be an AEMT-3. Hopefully the SS Calilasseia wouldn't need a Dr!

Here is a list of what i do for fun.
Reading, playing racing games on my PC, long drives on quiet remote highways with a lot of cigarettes, discovering fish stores in the city and computer programing in Java.

I go to work. Seriously! I supervise jail inmates and teach them how to operate our small fish farm. We also rescue and rehabilitate abused and neglected horses. I'm also in charge of construction for special projects such as building dog and cat houses for benefit raffles.
At home I collect comics and get beat by my wife on the PS2.

I like:-

* spending time with my kids - who are fast outgrowing me

* running (with my club - on my own - with girlfriends or with hubby). I'm heading off on 15th April to do one of the marathons I do annually. Most of my running club go to this one as well. We have a great weekend away in the nation's capital.

* mini triathlons - but only if the swimming section isn't too long - I suck at swimming.

* riding my bike

* reading

* Eating out with hubby

* Oh, & do I have to mention fish keeping (or is that a given)

Cheers
