Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 ![]() | Hi there everyone, I was wondering how many of ya'll have seen eBoard? It is supposed to be an interactive technological way for parents, teachers, and students to keep in touch. I've never used it, so it is totally new to me. But, low and behold I am now using it I guess![]() Well, I have finally been able to access my eBoard, and have done a crummy job of setting it up, but for now this will have to do. [link=What do ya'll think?]http://www1.eboard.com/eboard/servlet/BoardServlet?ACTION=BOARD_SHOW&SITE_NAME=cliftonms&BOARD_NAME=Laird&SESSION_ID=064a892l6xtws4282" style="COLOR: #FF1493[/link] Think I got my point across? The principal wants our syllabus up there (mine is in English and Spanish, both are attachments), and homework for each week listed. Anything else ya'll can think of that might be of interest? Thanks, Heidi PS if you see a typo please tell me it's been a miserable day hml"I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." Thomas Carlyle |

Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 ![]() | Thanks Calla Nope, I'm "ESL" teacher, 1 of 2 official ones on my campus, and it wasn't until the second six weeks that I received a "real" reading class. As it turns out they were all my ESL students, but they met the criteria they needed to exit the ESL program, and were temporarily shifted to other classes...uh so temporarily they didn't even see the other teachers they got the new schedule in 1st and 2nd period, and by 3rd and 4th it dawned on someone I no longer had a 2nd period so they shipped them all back to me, to do "regular 6th grade reading" with![]() And my homeroom, that crazy time of the morning when noone is awake, and I was stuck on the highway this morning]:|where we get to "interact" and get to know our students better, as well as pass out any notices and all that need to go home is ESL for me as well except they are what we refer to as Beginners or Newcomers...ie. they are straight from their home countries...now you want to talk about a fun and interesting class:%)try explaining something you aren't sure of to them, when you aren't totally fluent, and are having a bad foreign language day, and they are having an even worse English day:%) is all i can say:%)heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." At masters level at uni it looks very clear and extremly well presented. Next question where do you get all the time to something like that. I hope it is not a wasted effort and it is appreciated by all. Keith ![]() ![]() Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. BTW- Shouldn't kids remember their own homework and what they're learning??? Being responsible and taking the initiative to look after their own things is a part of growing up. Might as well just give em all A's and don't bother to get 'em up and bring 'em to school. |

I like having instructions written down somewhere, as many times I had teachers turn around on me and say "I didn't say that" when they actually did, they just meant something totally different :%). May as well write it online than hand it out on paper. Plus, getting things on paper is a good practice these days, what with everybody suing everybody ![]() |
