Both cable and DSL speeds are capped significantly slower. For instance, my cable modem is provisioned for 3 mbps down, 384 kbps up. To find out what your speed actually is, call your provider or run a speed test.

But my parents PC has 512K ADSL ------------------------------------------------- I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. That would explain some of the things down there, some of the unearthly biological contraptions

I had DSL-PPPOE-for quite a while and had bout the same speed but the ping times were absurdly long. Check out http://www.speedguide.com just tested 1448kbps down 177 up [span class="edited"][Edited by karfixer 2004-07-29 23:35][/span]
