So true. Recent example The John Butler Trio. Relesed the song 'Zebra' and now every screaming teenage girl is his biggest fan. He all but refuses to play the song now which i personally think is great.

bah, pops the best (IMO)

there's nothing constitutionally wrong wit pop music; the problem is that these days it's so homogenous and for the most part only acts as a backdrop to quasi-paedohilic video marketing.
even so, the global pop machine normally creates a couple pf good songs a year. but in the past pop was great. i have a huge personal soft spot for 60s surf and girl-groups like the ronettes and the shangri las. Everyting motown ever produced is pop. so is northern soul. IN genral I'm a fan of very obscure, very abrasive rock bands (sonic youth, cme, braniac, big black), but anyone who claims to get no pleasure listening to abba, the beatles or smkoey robinson is tryyoing a bit hard not to be pop.

WOW, what a waste of time pop is. there are a million pop artists and they all make music about the same things. i include most rap with pop music. same stuff, different(yet basic) beat. its all crap that people will deny ever listening to in the future.

Pop bands come and go, and nobody builds up a legacy and fan base quite like a good rock/metal band. Although some of it is crap, I don't like screaming and yelling junk.

Rap music which has become quite popular also bothers me. Electronic beats don't take much talent, let alone 90% don't make their own beat anyways. And then to just rhyme a few words together, which most of the time doesn't make sense, and when it does it has a stupid meaning. I'm not exactly into disrespecting women and shooting people for going on "my territory", and I'm not after any respect I didn't earn, just thought I was tough so I deserved it.

Pop, well, it's pop, I can't rant too much on it, but there's plenty wrong with it in my opinion. Also they're better known for lipsinking, never heard of Steven Tyler lipsinking.

'Pop' music is destroying the music industry. Its absolute garbage and pop musicians should be put on an island and left so they cant pollute the airways any more. Any band that has to use technology to make them sound good doesnt deserve to be making as much money as they do.

Yes, I like pop. I listen to most anything and everything...though I can say I don't like about 98% of rap...I listen to pop, rock, heavy metal, country, oldies, classical, celtic, and some stuff I dont' even know where it fits in...heidi

Pop music is one of my biggest guilty pleasures. i love listening to Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, and Britney Spears.

yeah I'm in my 40's and I like pop. It all depends on the song. Pop is short for popular. So this can be a very big range of music. Delta Goodrem (sorry if I mis spelled the name) is a pop singer.
Re- Gwen Stefani I like her new song. What Are You Waiting For, but I didn't like her old song Yeah Baby.
Same with Sophie Ellis-Bextor- I really like Murder On The Dance Floor.
I am not in to Country Western music at all. Like Hank Williams, Slim Dusty etc.
I do like some Country singers like Shaina Twain.
I like nearly all types of music except Country Western and rap. Go more of rock bands Aerosmith, Lep Zeppelin.
