It could be lighting type and how many hrs it is on? Feeding, what are you feeding to what how often and how much? Lack of water/tank maintenance percentage of water changed and how often? Finally the size of the tank. Can you get a full water parameters done at your LFS and post the actual figures not all OK. If you can answer all these questions it will a lot easier to solve the problem.
