Ozonated water... | |
bodangit Hobbyist Posts: 97 Kudos: 37 Votes: 10 Registered: 19-Jan-2006 | I told my mom to buy me some water that has been purified by reverse osmosis or deionization. She goes to the store and buys the one that says ozonated and deionized. Will this harm my fish? I read somewhere that ozone is like chlorine. ________________________________________________ I like Led Zeppelin. |

Ozone is very unstable, and does not stay in the water as chlorine or chloramine will. Frank -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |

If the ozone disperses before the water goes in the tank there should be no problem, if it remains high there could be a problem. Its highly unlikely though, but technically just about possible. |

I work for a soft drink company and we use ozone to sterilize our spring water. You can sniff the bottle it will smell like chlorine if still present. We dont release any product till 48 hrs to make sure we have no taints of ozone left... |
