Hes right you know, the existing sizes on te profile are off, 3.5 inches would be small for a fully adult boesmani, ive got one over 6 inches, and all but a couple of the other 30 or so is over 4 inches.

Males reach 6 inch, females about 5inches. Wont see that sort of size unless theyre over 5 years old though. They sort of grow in the first year then stop, then grow a bit more in their 3 year and stop, and they hit 5 years and they grow again. Existing profile info is probably reflective of not many owners having truly mature fish. Chester zoo has one even bigger than mine at near on 7 inch, though I assume that specimen is exceptional. Their new guinea red rainbows are damn near the same size too. Probably down to aquarium size and diet variety, ie 80 gallon plus, and loads of variety.

I must agree as well, I have seen on many occassions these fish at 5-6 inches. And actually, if fed properly, they will reach these sizes in just a couple of years.
