Natalie | Approve Being in the order Perciformes does not make a fish a Percoid. They must belong to the suborder Percoidei to be considered a Percoid. The Hawkfish familiy (Cirrhitidae), however, does happen to be in the suborder Percoidei. Gouramis are in the order Perciformes, but they are not Percoids because they are in the suborder Anabantoidei (making them Anabantoids). I hope you get what I'm saying... |
