i got a female crowntail betta today

the local wal-mart hired a knowlegable fish dpt. manager a while back, and he takes good care of the fish. they got some crowntail female bettas in, and they had them in 1/3g cups (as opposed to the usual 1/10g). they were labled as regular bettas and likewise priced the same as usual bettas i wanted to get 2 of them, but there was only one mostly red one (i have a red male and wanted to have a pair) and i didn't have enough money for 2 anyway.

i'm gonna breed her with my male veil tail and get veily- crowntails i'll eventually breed most of the veil tail genes out of the family

i'll post up some pics in a week or so when i can get my hand (note i didn't say handS..i broke an arm) on a digital camera w/macro

i got 2 more today

one is totally red so i won't get any mutts! the other has a purple body that glows under blacklight a bit

do they only have little stikes or are they like imported CT with long stikes?

the rays extend about 1/2 cm - 1 cm past the end of the fin... they're not huge...
