29 Gallon Almost Finished! | |
reun Big Fish Posts: 332 Kudos: 216 Registered: 04-Nov-2005 | up and running! startup and almost finished: almost done there are a ton of over the back filters hanging off it right now to avoid ammonia spiking, they will be removed so the tubes seen there will be gone except the one hidden behind the log, and the heater will be relocated out of sight. so, lemme know what everyone thinks! |

I am a fan of live plants though, but that would be the only thing I would change. I'm excited to keep track of the progress and see the end result. It looks like your taking your time and doing things right, congrats. What does that mean, Bob? "Till the cows come home." Where have the cows been? |

I would also prefer to see live plants there but are the plants used for a particular fish/s ? Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. reun Big Fish Posts: 332 Kudos: 216 Registered: 04-Nov-2005 | yeah, i like real plants too, i just dont have the money to keep replacing them and i keep killing them....so, plastic and cloth for now. the tall plants tend to make the tetras swim up towards the top of the tank instead of hanging out in the middle...and all the nooks and crannys were needed to get my ram to come out...when i got the ram i didnt realise they did best in pairs, so being by itself, it is rather timid unless it has lots of places to hide...that and the south american bumblebee catfish likes to sleep in differant spots during the day, mostly wedged between pieces of slate. also, a beta resides in the community tank, and the tall plants are used for resting and sleeping...he prefers the ones that come up to the surface of the water. thanks for the comments! if anyone has any ideas let me know! i am working on a limited budget though, so cheaper the better, lol. |

You can start of with low light plants, that need less maintenance. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
