I would draw it out full size first front, top, and side views to get an idea of exactly what is needed. Also a tall tank is excellent for this type of design. littlemousling Conchiform Posts: 5230 Registered: 23-Aug-2003 | Agreed. I have a 29 paludarium, and there's not room for almost any of that. I can't speak to the amphibians (not my area) but generally, fish and amphibians are a bad mix. Remember you're dealing with, at best, 20 gallons or water, and that's if you fill the tank more than halfway; many people do much less. The Snakeskin gouramies are definitely too large, and I believe the Raphael cats are as well. The African butterfly fish should work, though. Lilies get huge, even the smallest varieties. There's a plant (well, a few species) of the genus Hydrocotyle that might suit your needs, though. Here's my tank, with five Altolamprologus compressiceps "Sumbu" and a pair of wild-type Aplocheilus lineatus: Even with just seven small fish, it looks and feels overstocked, because there's a low water level and the rocks and plants take up so much space; you need a large ba -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

I would assume that the actual water volume is way below 20G probably closer to 10 than 20. Ingo |

I never thought I'd see the day when I said this, but the duckweed actually lends itself quite nicely to the entire aquascape. . |

Then perhaps you could add a few nice male guppies. As for a newt I would suggest either a Firebelly newt or a Green Newt, in my experience with keeping these newts with smaller fish i have seen no harm done, just be sure to make sure there are no little holes at the top of the tank the newts can clime out through. |
