29 gallon tank needs serious aquascaping | |
Azrael_Darkness Fish Addict Posts: 547 Kudos: 420 Votes: 8 Registered: 26-Oct-2004 | Well i have a 29 gallon that has just kind of fallen apart in the looks department due to gravel vacs and other tanks to decorate so this one seemed to lose its looks. I have stock lighting (anyone happen to know the wattage for a 29 gallon light?) The gravel is black and red, more black then red though. I was trying to consider if live plants was an option with the somewhat pea gravel, although i have weak light i was unsure. Current inhabitants are 9 tiger barbs, 3 dwarf puffers, and 2 banjo cats. I would prefer to not have to change the gravel, although not very natural looking it seems to bring out the color of my barbs. If anyone has pictures/ideas of what i can do here in this size tank please comment . I always seem to never be able to make the tanks look the way i want so maybe if i had suggestions the aquascaping would turn out better. |

Remove the tube, it's written on it somewhere . With flouros generally length determines wattage. My biggest problem with 29's is that they're too tall giving you a very limited amount of surface area, both for fish stocking and light. Without changing light or substrate you'd likely get away with low light plants such as java fern. Buy some of the taller pieces from your LFS, tie onto a striking piece of driftwood and you're set . ^_^ [hr width='40%'] And though it’s red blood bleeding from her now. It's more like cold blue ice in her heart. She feels like kicking out all the windows. And setting fire to this life." |

But yea i might invest in some decent lighting and maybe get some medium light plants. |

Re that light can you put a twin light or a suspended light? I have used the word "CAN" Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
