Hmmm well how is the tank located? Against a wall or is it free standing. With equal dimensions on all sides it begs to be designed as a mound IMO, which would look awsome if the tank is just freestanding as you could have a slightly different focus on each side of the tank with the center being the central focal point.

You mean like getting a rock in the middle, with an anenome on it?

That would make a cool clownfish tank :88)

(you mean 2 footx2 footx2 foot? dont you)

why not make an archway acxross the front of the tank making it seem as if your looking into the ocean/rock. Heres a diagram

You will still be able to see your fish 99% if you choose them wisely for instance if you got an anemone attached to the center piece of live rock and a couple of clownfish you would almost never have to search for them.

There would also be some dissadvantages with this type of aquascape but these would only occour if you choose your your stock poorly for instance if you stock ed with shrimp and crabs you would never see them!!!

overall if done right this will provide an interesting aquascape which will be able to be viewed from all angles(except for underneath )

Okay well I really cant draw with a mouse, even less in the one image editing program they allow me to have @work, but this was my idea on how to set it up. You'd pile the live rock into a central mound, then attach your various corals to the sides. If you devoted each side to a different type of coral with them blending to the edges it'd be like having 3 or 4 tanks in one !

Babel! LMAO! I love it!!!

One problem.

You should never put a yellow tang in a tank that small.

Cant wait to see what you do with the tank Darryle. I thought SPS were going in this one though? SPS and anenomes may equal a stingy disaster.

Not realy ferret because if you think about it i put the BTA or LTA in first it gets setteld and i put in a few SPS Plus if i get a BTA they are most commonley kept with SPS corals.

P.s Bable you nearly have it

Even BTA's while being more coral friendly will still wander and sting corals.....a lot of corals can deal with it better than others. SPS are not one of those corals. With SPS, necrosis will start at the point of the sting..unless you are lucky and it just bleaches it badly.

Remember, an animal that has the ability to move around will do so even if you think it is settled in and isnt going to move. With SPS I wouldnt recommend keeping anything in the tank except for zoanthids and ricordia on the sand bed.....and of course clams. Personally after keeping SPS and other corals (lps and softies) in the same tank I wouldnt do it again. IMO, a tank that is going to house SPS should be just that, an SPS tank. SPS are far to expensive and picky on water conditions to be trying to keep them happy and at the same time trying to keep LPS and softies happy that like more nutrient rich water. One or the other will suffer IMO.

Also, if you put a pile of rock in the middle of the cube, remember that flow for SPS is going to be more difficult to achieve without having a laminar flow. It is possible but you would need to consider a large pump and a manifold of some sort for random chaotic flow.

Cubes are great for aquascaping, but they also come with a totally different set of challenges when it comes to aquascaping. Good luck, and have fun with it
