Personally I would soften those sharp edges with some very low plants or pieces of drift wood with nanna anubias on them just an idea. Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I VOTE DO YOU if not WHY NOT? VOTE NOW VOTE NOW |

Do you think java moss will do? |

lou Fingerling Posts: 44 Votes: 0 Registered: 06-Sep-2004 | IMPO I think that the tank looks better lopsided as it allows the eye to travel around the tank and take in all the detail. but i do agree with Keithgh in putting some round leaved plants just to beak up the edges a bit. but i am by no means an aquascaping genius |

ACIDRAIN Moderator Posts: 3162 Kudos: 1381 Votes: 416 Registered: 14-Jan-2002 | As for the crypts, don't take them out because they look like they died. I have had them come back several times. Often the change of environment will cause them to do this. They may come back. As for your tank, you should have entered it. Even if you did not win, you would have been up in the running. It is a very well kept and nicely set up tank. Suggestions? Well, one I thought of before reading everyones comments, was the dwarf grass as you have already stated. As for the look now, I like the flow from the right to the left. The gentle slopes of the plants go from high on the right, down to the left. They draw the eye down to the area just right of the kuhli loach. I would make that area the center piece with a nice single rock, a fancy looking cave, or some odd decor. A center piece does not mean it has to be "centered". I would leave it open of plant life though. One thing I would definitely do, is remove the thermometer, lol. As the eye is drawn to it right now, it will take away from any center piece you add. Move it to the side, or get one that floats. HTH.... There is always a bigger fish... |
