I bought a length of grapevine wood/branch/trunk for my established tank. The problem I am having is that the dern thang floats, dagnabbit! I have had the grapevine soaking in my sink for 24 hours and it is still floating. I don't want to empty water and then attach it with aquarium sealant as I don't have adequate space to put the fish for that kind of project.

So my question is: What does everyone suggest to make this not float and stay submersed? Am I not doing anything right?

If there is an easy answer to this and there is some kind of commonly used system for stuff like this, please excuse me.:%)

Hi,
24 Hours is no where near long enough to waterlog
a piece of wood. You could weigh it down with
rocks at each end. Or, you could take it out,
dry it in the sun for a day or two, and then
silicone it to a piece of slate that you could
set on the glass bottom and cover with gravel.
Or, silicone it to some rocks, and then submerge
the assembly.
